First Visit
To ensure
that your first visit with us is a pleasant
one, here are the procedures you can expect
during your initial encounter. In the
interest of being thorough, please plan on
spending approximately one hour with us.

- PAPERWORK: Complete the
necessary questionnaire and forms to help us
get to know you. The doctors will use this
information to help formulate your care
plan.
- TOUR OF THE CLINIC: Maureen the office manager
will give you a tour of the clinic so that you feel
comfortable and know where everything is.
- CONSULTATION: You will sit down with Dr. Alter
and he will review your health history and determine
if yours is a chiropractic case.
- EXAMINATION: Standard orthopedic, neurological,
and chiropractic tests will be performed to determine
the cause(s) of your problem.
- DIAGNOSTICS: X-rays may be taken to visualize
the location of any nerve, muscle, or spinal
problems. This enables us to make your chiropractic
care more precise.
- CORRELATION: Before proper care can be rendered, the doctor must first study your examination findings and your
X-rays. On visit #2 Dr.
Alter with review your examination findings with you
and discuss specific care recommendations.
- ADJUNCTIVE PROCEDURES: Dr. Alter may suggest the application of ice, heat, or any other therapies to help reduce your symptoms and make you more comfortable.

Second Visit
- REPORT OF FINDINGS: Dr Alter will review
with you your examination results and your
X-rays and give you a thorough understanding
of any problems he has found.
- TREATMENT PLAN: The doctor will outline a
treatment plan individually designed for your
unique spinal problems and health complaint.
- EXPECTATIONS: Based on clinical
experiences, the doctors will explain your
prospects for recovery and what you can do
to help speed the healing process.
- QUESTIONS: Make sure you fully
understand the nature and severity of your
condition and what our office will be doing
to help you. Ask Questions! .
- ADJUSTMENT: Dr. Alter will give
you your first spinal correction and begin
you on your way to recovery.
- THERAPEUTIC MODALITIES: Depending
on your specific case, the use of various
forms of physical therapy in order to help
make you more comfortable and assist in the
healing process. If needed, these adjunctive
procedures will be explained to you in
detail.
- FUTURE VISITS: Your future visits
will typically last approximately 20
minutes.
